This week in stealth mode i revamped Tony’s website and got to post it up today It was a please to get this done, this also gets Tony’s site upto date with all new code ready for bigger and better things.

This week was a busy one, 1 new web site to start, 1 upgrade just about to go live online, 1 customer realizes the importance of backing up, after a fried mother board (good news we have recovered all the data). It wont happen again, as we will install Carbonite on the machine so it gets backed up automatically online. What is your data worth?
Also clocked up 600km to catch up with a mate, last job to finish of for a weekend project, lock down a machine so customer can use it, but keep there access to the net and server of limits as well as restrict access to all system files, lucky this is a easy job with a free program from Microsoft. A great tool to also restrict the kids access to the net and unwanted sites.
New PHP RSS Stack

Today I installed a new RSS stack into my web site over at Upside down Websites, so i could put the last recent posts on that home page there too. Great way to keep both websites up to date with info thanks to Joe Workman for writing the plugin.

Well ? , this can be a mind field for the newbie, A couple weeks ago i needed to store some files for some web sites i was working on and thought it would be a good idea to play with Amazon S3 storage. First thing i found was how the hell did you talk to S3 storage from your PC or Mac.
So with some good research i found on the PC, a great couple of programs from NetSDK software ( http://bit.ly/d09dWs) 1: is a browser so you can drop and drag files when ever you want (S3Browser – http://s3browser.com/) and also from same company,
2: TNTDrive (http://tntdrive.com/) which allows you to map a S3 folder to your computer.
S3amozon is a great place to store and share files at a great price, so far my monthly bill from Amazon has been less that 18cents , not that i have a lot up there but dame cheap and handy.
